We’ve mentioned Sling TV many times in our blogs, and it’s even showcased on our website. It’s a great alternative to watching your favorite channels without having to continue with cable. But what exactly is Sling TV, and what is offered with its subscription?

What is Sling TV?

Sling TV is an internet-based streaming service that allows subscribers to watch all of the network channels typically provided in a cable or satellite package. All you need is a Sling TV subscription and an internet connection!

With either your smart TV, media streaming device, or mobile device, can access the app, and watch the shows right on your TV. With the Sling TV app, you can watch all of your favorite channels, like ESPN, TBS, Food Network, and more.

Compatible streaming devices:

●        Roku

●        Amazon Fire TV

●        Apple TV

●        Chromecast

●        Xbox One

●        Windows 10

●        Smartphones or tablets (iOS, Android, & Amazon tablet)

●        Some smart TVs (Samsung & LG)

So should you sign up? First, it’s important to know that Sling offers two distinct package options.

Sling TV Package Options

Starting at $25 per month, you can sign up for either the Sling Orange package or Sling Blue. You can even combine them for a starting fee of $40 per month. From there, the prices gradually rise as you upgrade the number of channels you have in either package.

●        Orange | Sling Orange, the lower package, has roughly 30 channels, including Disney and ESPN. This option only allows for one person to stream at a time.

●        Blue | Sling Blue, the higher of the two packages, has over 40 channels, including Fox Sports and NBC. This option allows for three people to stream at a time.

*Note: Both Orange and Blue also come with premium options that include HBO and Showtime. They also both come with various $5 - $10 add-ons, depending on your viewing needs.

As you can see, some channels are offered in Orange that aren’t offered in Blue, and vice versa. So you’ll want to choose the package that includes the channels you care about most. And if you’re an avid sports fan, you may want to consider having the combined package.
